In 1986, Carrie moved to Tokyo and started a singing career which lasted for a few years. During this period she released three singles entitled “Yume no Senaka”, “Be Your Girl”, and “Party Girl”, and along with these, she also hosted television and radio series’. After 1988, she moved back to America and became part of the Fly Girls for the show “In Living Color”. They were a group of backup dancers who performed with popular singers, and Carrie was part of the show until 1992, and then became a dancer for Madonna’s “Girlie Show World Tour” in 1993.
