Taylor Townsend, a tennis player from the United States, was born on April 16, 1996. Her ranking in the WTA rose to No. 61 in July 2018, which was a career high.

When she was named the 2012 ITF Junior World Champion after finishing the year atop the girls’ rankings, she did so for the first time in the United States since 1982. At the junior Australian Open that year, she won both the singles and doubles matches, as well as three of the four doubles crowns at the junior grand slams.

On October 14, 2020, Townsend posted a message on social media announcing her pregnancy. She gave birth to a son named Adyn Aubrey in the year 2021 on March 14.

The Chicago-based Gary and Sheila (Jones) Townsend are Taylor’s parents. Her parents are both high school administrators, and her mother used to work as a banker. Sheila participated in Division II tennis competitions at Lincoln University in Missouri. Taylor’s older sister Symone played tennis for Florida A&M in college.
