Charles Joseph "Charlie" Weis (born March 30, 1956) is an American football coach who most recently was the head coach for the Kansas Jayhawks, a position he assumed in December 2011. He served as offensive coordinator for the Florida Gators during the 2011 season. For five years, from 2005 through 2009, Weis was the head football coach for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. He has also served as an offensive coordinator in the National Football League, for the New York Jets, the New England Patriots, and the Kansas City Chiefs. On September 28, 2014, he was fired as head coach of the Kansas Jayhawks.
